Great Blacks in Wax - Museum
With Martin Luther King’s birthday just around the corner and Black History month in February get a head start on your education and fun with a trip to the Great Blacks in Wax Museum in Baltimore, Maryland.
Here you can see more than 140 historical black wax figures on display. Some of the figures include Rosa Parks, Henry “Box” Brown, who nailed himself in a packing crate to escape slavery, and Guion Bluford, the first black in space.
There are also exhibits on the ancient African and the history of slavery as well as black American inventions such as the ironing board, invented by Sarah Boone, T.W. Stewart’s floor mop and the inventor of potato chips, Hariam S. Thomas.
