Fainting Goats
Have you ever heard of a fainting goat?
Well, neither had I until I stumbled across RoadsideAmerica’s short clip on a farm in Montana, full of fainting goats.
Apparently, there is a breed of goats that when startled, faint! Some of them just become stiff-legged, whereas, others fall to the ground, looking like they are dead.
There is even an International Fainting Goat Association that recognize three different categories:
- Premium - meaning they faint regularly
- Regular - the stiff legged one
- Breeding Stock - females that were born to registered parents, are not affected, but carry the gene that would enable them to have fainting kids.
Dot and Lin’s exotic Animal Ranch is located in Montana, near the Canadian border, if you care to scare. I know it sounds mean, but it might be worth a good laugh; and goats are cute even if they don’t faint.
