Callers putting me on hold really irritates me!
It really annoys me when I am having a busy day at work and someone calls me at my desk…when I answer the phone they put me on hold…if you were that busy at your own office, why not wait until you have a calm minute before calling me?
Now you have interrupted my workflow (or the client that is sitting at my desk that I was helping) and you expect me to sit with the phone to my ear waiting for you….that really irritates me!

I agree with JAI 100%, The phone rings, someone say’s “Please hold for a very important message,”Then you get music or just an open line. That’s when I hang up.
How about when you answer and there is no one there at all. We were getting so many of these phantom calls we called our telephone company. Their explanation was that phone solicitors use automated dialers that dial 10 plus numbers at a time. All will ring but then cut off when the first one answers. My inclination is to shout “Well the least you could do is breathe heavy.” I have other things to do than run to the phone, pick it up and have no one there….
