A Titanium Wedding Ring is Made to Last

When you think of titanium, you probably imagine long lasting strength. Could there be a stronger statement of the commitment and love symbolized by a wedding ring? This metal, while seemingly so common, has extraordinary properties that make it a perfect base for engagement and wedding rings.

When it comes to metals, titanium is one of the strongest. A titanium ring won’t get banged out of shape unless there’s a huge amount of force. For example, a gold wedding ring is far more likely to be damaged if you slam the car door on your hand. You might be able to scratch it, but it won’t be easy. A little polishing and it will look like new again.

Yet, despite this hardness, wearers need have no concerns about being unable to remove a titanium ring in an emergency. In rare instances, a gold ring can be bent into a finger, causing painful pressure. That’s less likely with a titanium wedding ring. But if it should happen, the ring can be cut off just as any other.

The strength of titanium is the reason it is used in high tech industries such as aerospace. Yet there is another. It’s approximately one third the weight of gold, making it very lightweight. Some like the whisper soft feel of titanium. It rests on the finger lightly and gives no resistance during movement. This is a real bonus for those who spend a lot of time using a keyboard.

As well, titanium is hypoallergenic and can be worn constantly with no worries about skin conditions. There’s no effect on the skin. Titanium is a benign material, and is employed in numerous medical situations such as hip implants.

There’s more to titanium engagement and wedding rings than just their practicality, however. In addition, they look gorgeous.

Titanium in its natural form is gray in color, sort of like stainless steel only more lustrous. It polishes to a high sheen and, because it’s so hard, can be worked into brilliant designs. Those qualities make for a subtle, yet ultra-elegant and different style of jewelry. During the manufacturing process, it can also be treated so it becomes a shining black in color. Be sure, though, to get a genuine black titanium ring, not one that has merely been coated and will have to be retreated.

Men, particularly, enjoy the option of having the stylish alternative presented by this unusual wedding ring metal. By mixing the black and gray kinds you get more of a design range. The result is a stellar wedding ring that is ultra-lightweight, stylish and unusual.

Think about the distinctive appearance and image of your wedding ring. Remember, you’re unique. Shouldn’t your ring be too?
